UPDATE
Bad
News: Baby Lupita Amador was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Arkansas
Children’s Hospital. Her liver has nearly shut down because of numerous blood
clots caused by chemotherapy. She is in a great deal of pain.
Good
News: Doctors report the chemotherapy has caused remission of cancer cells. Her
white blood count is slowly climbing.
We
ask that you continue prayer ceremonies for this precious child. Please send

BEARY NICE!
(Flippin, AR) - We want
to share the news of our latest arrival with our MAIC family. My grandson,
Matthew (Usti Gola Yonv - Little Winter Bear) was born on Dec 15 at 9:28 am. He
weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. and 19" long. Should have called him
"Hungry Bear", all he wants to do is eat and EAT. We hope to bring him
to Manataka soon. Good thoughts to all. Grandmother Noquisi
(Note:
Grandmother has already completed an application to insure Baby Bear is inducted
as a member of MAIC!)
RIP PROJECT SURVEY:
Last
month we reported that members have begun work to inform MAIC families, friends,
hospitals and funeral homes about American Indian ceremonies for the deceased.
Informational packets would be made available to MAIC members to be used in case
of death. We would like to know your opinion to these questions:

Big Foot Ride - South Dakota
Your Help Is Needed
Greetings!
The annual Big Foot Ride in
South Dakota, headed by Chief
Arvol Looking Horse, to commemorate the anniversary of the Big Foot massacre has been
tragically halted. This morning it was discovered that EVERY vehicle and trailer
tires were slashed. ANY help would be deeply appreciated.
The effort to regain their
rights to their culture, their history, and their children's futures has
demanded that all concerned and compassionate fellow human beings join in their
struggle. This is another opportunity for those of us who's lives have been so
enriched by our native relatives, to rise up and participate in assisting them
to continue on in their dream for the future generations. Thank You, your help
will be most appreciated.
