I
am often criticized because I write about the genocide of our
People. Many citizens of this country are of the mistaken belief
that this nasty chapter in history is in the past and best
forgotten. But the genocide continues to this day. No, the 7th
Cavalry isn't gunning down women and children, but we are being
exterminated just the same.
Consider these examples.....
In 1948, uranium was in high demand. The Navajo Nation was rich
in uranium deposits and the US Government was more than willing
to risk Navajo lives to obtain it. Over the course of time, the
people who worked in the mines and their families became sicker
and sicker. The rains that fell on the desert floor also was
contaminated and soon the animals and plants were sick, too.
In the 1980's the situation became so critical that Harry Tome,
a Dineh activist, worked tirelessly to force the US Government
to provide compensation to the families who were suffering. In
1990, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act was passed. Yet
today, remediation programs covered in that act have still not
been fully implemented.
Now HRI, a subsidiary of Uranium Resources, Inc., wants to begin
uranium mining again. The Nuclear Regulation Committee has
approved a mining license without even consulting the Navajo
Nation Council. Never mind that Navajo teenagers have 17 times
more cancer than other teens.
But who cares?
Just south of the Grand Canyon and 7 miles north of Flagstaff,
the volcanic San Francisco Peaks loom 12,000 feet above the
Arizona landscape. These mountains are sacred to 13 American
Indian Tribes. Yet Arizona Snowbowl, a classy ski resort that
has leased 800 acres of Sacred Land, are fighting in court for
their right to spray sewer water in the air to make snow for
their wealthy clientele to play on. Sewage water on sacred
land.......
Yucca Mountain, Sacred Land to the Western Shoshone, Southern
Paiute, and Owens Valley Paiute and Shoshone peoples is the site
of a nuclear waste dump........
The US Government has often resorted to dividing our People in
order to get what they want. BIA hand picked white thinking
Indians are put in control of tribal governments to facilitate
the raping of our land and People. This is going on in many
parts of Indian Land today.
According to the Lakota Journal, in 1998, the Rosebud Sioux
Tribal Council signed a contract allowing Sun Prairie
Partnership, an affiliate of Bell Farms, to build the world's
third largest hog operation on tribal trust land. Based in
Wahpeton, North Dakota, the facility can raise 859,000 hogs
annually. The amount of pig waste produced per year would be
equal to a city of 2 million people without a sewage treatment
plant.
Many residents of Rosebud Reservation claim that the tribal
council did not obtain the consent of the people before signing
on the dotted line......
We are not allowed to possess many of our sacred feathers used
in our ceremonies without permits. Those of us who are not
Federally Recognized are not given these permits. Ask Robert
Soto, a Lipan Apache and Christian minister who had his 40 year
old feather bustle and roach confiscated at a traditional
gathering several years ago. His battle to regain them has cost
him thousands of dollars and much heart ache. Can you imagine
how you would feel if your crosses and bibles were confiscated
at church? Not the same thing????
Our People endure seeing the faces of their captors daily.
Andrew Jackson, who forced tens of thousands of Indians into
concentration camps and forced marches is honored on US
Currency. The Black Hills, Sacred land of the Great Sioux Nation
is desecrated with huge stone statues of US Presidents. A kind
of "In Your Face" reminder of who's top dog now.
Last week friends of mine were going to attend a Traditional
Ceremony in Canada. They had their necessary papers in order
(birth certificates) and expected no trouble crossing the
border. But when the Canadian border guards asked the reason for
their entry into Canada and learned they were going to attend a
First Nations Sacred Ceremony, my friends were told to get out
of the car, their luggage was searched, their papers
photographed, and they were harshly treated. Refused entry, they
repacked their luggage, reloaded their car, drove 50 feet to the
American border crossing guard where the whole process was
repeated. This is happening NOW!!!!
Do you think just because you are white, this couldn't happen to
you? Are you not witnessing the beginning of your own genocide
today?
(Editor's Note:
Manataka, the Place of Peace, a sacred site for many American Indians is under
attack by government bureaucrats who forcibly prevent prayer ceremonies to be
conducted on our traditional grounds. They attempt to divide our people,
threaten, harass and call us ugly names. Manataka is yet another example
of government genocide.
Lacy Branham Hearl closes her eyes and travels eight decades back to
what began as a sweet childhood.
There was
family everywhere: her parents, five siblings, nine sets of adoring
aunts and uncles and more cousins than she could count. They all
lived in a Monacan Indian settlement near Amherst, their threadbare
homes circling apple orchards at the foot of Tobacco Row Mountain.
As Hearl
grew, however, she sensed the adults were engulfed in deepening
despair. When she was 12, an uncle gathered his family and left
Virginia, never to see her again. Other relatives scattered in
rapid succession, some muttering the name “Plecker.”
Soon, only Hearl’s immediate family remained. Then the
orchards began to close because there were not enough
workers and the townspeople turned their backs and all that
was left was prejudice and plight and Plecker.
Hearl shakes her head sadly.
“I thought Plecker was a
devil,” she says. “Still do.”
Walter Ashby Plecker
was the first registrar of Virginia’s Bureau of
Vital Statistics, which records births,
marriages and deaths. He accepted the job in
1912. For the next 34 years, he led the effort
to purify the white race in Virginia by forcing
Indians and other nonwhites to classify
themselves as blacks. It amounted to
bureaucratic genocide.
He worked with a
vengeance.

Statistics, starting in
1912, forced Indians to

had become a “mongrel”
mixture. Courtesy Richmond
Times-Dispatch
Plecker was
a white supremacist and a zealous
advocate of eugenics – a now discredited
movement to preserve the integrity of
white blood by preventing interracial
breeding. “Unless this can be done,” he
once wrote, “we have little to hope for,
but may expect in the future decline or
complete destruction of our
civilization.”
Plecker’s icy efficiency as racial
gatekeeper drew international
attention, including that of Nazi
Germany. In 1943, he boasted:
“Hitler’s genealogical study of the
Jews is not more complete.”
Plecker retired in
1946 at the age of 85 and died
the following year. The damage
lives on.
From the grave, Plecker is
frustrating the efforts of
Virginia tribes to win
federal recognition and a
trove of accompanying grants
for housing, health care and
education. One of the
requirements is that the
tribes prove their
continuous existence since
1900. Plecker, by purging
Indians as a race, has made
that nearly impossible. Six
Virginia tribes are seeking
the permission of Congress
to bypass the requirement.
RALEIGH,
N.C. — The Lumbee Indians of North Carolina
have crossed a significant hurdle in their quest for federal recognition, as
the U.S. House voted this week to approve the tribe's legitimacy.
The legislation that could bring
hundreds of millions of tax dollars in housing, education and health
benefits to the Lumbees must still pass the Senate, where it would first be
considered by the Committee on Indian Affairs. The House approved the
measure Thursday by a vote of 256-128.
But supporters were optimistic
about the legislation's chances, noting that Sen. Elizabeth Dole, R-North
Carolina, a chief sponsor of the bill, was working to persuade both
Democrats and Republicans to support it. Sen. Richard Burr, R-North
Carolina, also supports the legislation.
"We've never had a vote of this
magnitude," Jimmy Goins, the Lumbees' tribal chairman, said after the House
vote. "We just believe this gives us a tremendous amount of momentum going
into the U.S. Senate."
I read an article several months ago in the Smoke Signal regarding the
disappearance of the 'Honey Bees. I was astonished at the rate the
bees are disappearing here in Illinois. Several local beekeepers have
reported that their hives are being emptied.
Scientists are calling the disappearance, "Colony Collapse
Disorder". Honey bees don't just die of old age although they only
live for about six weeks during the summer and perhaps a little longer in
winter months. Malnutrition, Diseases and Pesticides can contribute to the
disappearance of the bees.
When I was a young boy, I remember my uncle taking me out to
where he kept his bees. He showed how he collected the honey and told me
that he always leaves some of the honey within the hive for the bees to eat
during the winter months. Some say that mankind will eventually starve
without the honey bees. Crops such as corn, and soybeans are pollinated by
the wind for the most part but with all the pesticides used by the farmers
our poor honey bees are in big trouble.
Unlike those pesky Yellow Jackets that appear during our
summer picnics, the honey bee is harmless. One way to keep the yellow
jackets away from your outing is to place a small amount of sweet soda in a
container such as a 2 liter bottle and place it in an area close. The yellow
jacket will get inside the bottle and stay there keeping them away from your
picnic lunch and the children. (They Bite!)
We can help the honey bees by planting a few flowers in our
back yard. They are placed here on Mother Earth by the Creator and for the
most part for our benefit. So the next time you hear, Buzz, Buzz,
Buzz, remember the honey bees are a loving provision from our Creator.
A'Ho Hawk With Seven Eyes.
Mitakuye,Oyasin, ta-wa-do-gi
(Editor's Note: More recently it was reported that
another cause of the disappearance of honey bees is cell phones. The
vibrations created by cell phone disorient the bees, they lose direction and
cannot find the hive and eventually die. Aha, this is another reason
why we do not use cell phones -- beside the obvious damage to the brain of
cell phone users.)

Message Given For Healing Mother Earth
Asking All Nations of Humanity to Consider Manifesting Peace & Harmony
June 12th, 2007
According to
How The Spiritual Awakening Works We have Learned the following:
a.)
We are on a schedule; the Global Consciousness will rise in any case with us
or without us; there is no way around it; whether we like it or not, it is
now or later, to be or not to be to is the question to be considered.
b.) Father Sun is
enforcing this Transformation of Peace; Creation is helping Mother Earth to
purify & cleanse her Self; whether Humans want to participate, or not in
Earth Healing Ceremonies softening the blow to natures forces.
c.) Healing the
Sacred Sites is the smoothest option for Humanity to go together with our
Mother Earth through this required Transformation.
d.) Earth Healing
ceremonies restores balance & harmony to Mother Earth swiftly/quickly, and
raises Human Consciousness simultaneously / at the same time; it is a
pro-active approach, not a re-active approach.
e.) Earth Healing
ceremonies directs & channels the incoming electromagnetic Solar Forces in a
constructive way, not in a destructive way as we work together with our
gifts in healing all that is within the circle. Working with the forces of
Creator coming in everyday from the Sun, Moon, Stars and Planets.
f.) It is up to the
collective Human species to consider whether we would like a smooth ride, or
the very rough ride (the majority of the Human population would have to
leave if they do not awaken spiritually). It is our mandate to bring this
awareness or not, the choice is ours.
g.) If anybody has any
doubt with this concept / with the theory, then they can refer to Carl
Calleman at http://www.calleman.com or
watch Ian Lungold on http://www.youtube.com
it is their discussion individually, bring the awareness to the families
raising the consciousness of what is going on around us.
h.) Still, knowing the
theory does not solve the problem. One has to actually do it. Not talking
the talk, but walking the talk. The current worldwide developments
demonstrate that we are heading towards a dead end and at a high speed /
fast.
i.) Also, it is not
about arguing whether something would work or would not work, or whether
someone could be right or could be wrong. It is about doing it, experiencing
it, documenting it and proving it. Practicing as practioners until we re-set
the harmony in Mother Nature together as one family together from humanity
all cultures working on oneness within the circle of life, known to many as
Grandmother Spiders web held together by the sacred sites, the Earth Grids.
Forgiving those that do not understand what they are doing and showing them
by example in peace not separating one another with with who is right or
wrong. Remember peace is the answer and teaching not as dictators or
preachers give us the wisdom in how, why, cause and effect allows people to
make there choice feely on how they want to live. Not taking anything
personal or personally, will bring peace within our hearts and those around
us.
j.) BlueThunder at
http://www.teton-rainbows.com
and
http://www.viisionslifeforcefoundation.com is someone who walks the
talk/creators talk in dreams and visions for the past many years now.
Following those dreams and visions shown by my Eastern Shoshone Nations
Culture and Traditions. Listening to the voices of the ancient ancestors
and other spiritual messengers in dreamtime of our ways in spirituality as a
Native American. Knowing that working at my own evolutionary pace helps
bring peace to my heart reflecting the gifts of wisdom and knowledge in the
awareness of my people. As we begin to share the wisdom in the Earth
Healing Ceremonies sharing my gifts as others could do also, from those
experiences. We all know in our hearts so could many others could do also.
With this reflection that I am doing my best in bring awareness, of what I
can do as my ancestors have done. I feel these words spoken that if I can
do this then we all together can also do this collectively
together, becoming one heart, in spirit and mind sharing our dreams that
would help heal all that has happened to us upon Mother Earth.
k.) This time period
we are in is of essence, time is short as we move towards the years ahead
before the year 2012 arrives and is arriving fast. The Mayan Tablet
mentions and shows how time is measured and how the energies move within the
Solar System, within the Moon, Stars, Sun and Mother Earth, the Time to act
is now. The prophecies of the Eagle and Condor Nations mention that we will
come together like the Five Fingers of the Hand in Peace working with the
Earth Wisdom and Knowledge they have to share. Those five fingers represent
the Black, White, Yellow, Red and Brown Nations. The Brown Nations are the
Aborigines from Australia.
I pray others begin to
begin opening up the consequences in the awareness of the reality; as the
realization of humanity awakens sharing the dreams and visions of peace. May
we all walk this sacred Red, White, Yellow, Black and Brown Road finding
that Peace. Bringing Harmony, healing our differences and Mother Earth's
Environments at the same time. Speaking our Truth in Words felt from the
Heart of the Rose in Peaceful intentions called, "Spoken Truths, "As Nations
Unite Within The Souls We Walk", May Peace Prevail... as I pray that
it will be as it is above, below, in the four directions and on the surface
of Mother Earth. Peace will come from our Hearts when knowing how Mother
Earth works is how our bodies work, representing our Main Mother, Earth.
Blessings Be to Those Following the Heart of Peace,

When The Road Ahead Is
Shorter Than The Road Behind
We fear and often resent aging out. We know that each day of our trip
through space and time brings us closer to the end. Focusing on the end is
like worrying on vacation about the stuff you'll have to do when you return
home. Fear, worry and resentment diminish the experience.
Nothing stays the same, that's the way of things. The "order", the "Intent"
can be seen in the repeating pattern of things. We base all understanding
of things, ideas and concepts on having a base point and then moving from
there to somewhere else. Up/down, how far up, how far down? Rich/poor,
hot/cold, love/fear? Using the Medicine Wheel as a tool we can teach
basic concepts important to our perception and enjoyment of our
individual and joint reality.
The Medicine Wheel represents the Creation, the oneness of all... including
humans.
The East side of the wheel is painted Red for that is the direction and
color of the morning sun. It also represent the Springtime of the year and
the springtime of our lives when as infants we are creatures of emotion and
all we can do is love and be loved in return.
The South side of the wheel is painted Yellow for that is the direction and
color of the Summer sun. It also represents the Summertime of our lives when
as adolescents we are creatures of our hormones and the world is all about
us and our needs...we focus on self alone. Some people seem to chose to live
in the Summertime forever and never move on.
The West side of the wheel is painted Black for that is the direction
of Fall time, of the days getting shorter. It also represents the time of
our lives when we are parents and have children for which to care. As
wonderful as Spring is with new life blooming and babies nursing secure
in their mothers arms and love , as amazing as Summer is with crops
growing riper by the day and with the lushness and fullness of young lust
and youthful love...the Fall of our lives is even better. To watch your
children being born, to hear a baby giggle as you nibble at its toes...yes
I confess I'm a baby toe nibbler...to see them grow and learn to walk and
talk, knowing that once they start talking they'll never again shut
up...it's GRAND being a dad.
The North side of the wheel is painted White for that is the direction and
the color of snow and of Wintertime. It also represents the time of our
lives when our hair is the color of snow and the road ahead is much shorter
than the road behind...it is the time of Elderhood. As Elders we face
diminishing desires along with muscle and in time the physical becomes
harder. Free of the demands of being parents we can choose to revert to
focus on self; or we can use our wisdom for the good of others. As
Elhonon Goldberg once wrote in Wisdom Paradox, "Wisdom is the
integration of thought and analysis based on accumulated experience."
Now here is the wonderful thing
about doing for others.... you create a great experience for yourself.
As Elders we should let go the fear of death and instead become an example
of love of giving of ourselves to and for others.. and who knows being a
true Elder may be even better than being a parent.
Close to 8000 American turn sixty each day ...there should be plenty of
Elders around to change this world , to move mankind from a time of the "us"
and "them" to a time of the "we".

Indian Doctor's
opinion on who are the best patients !
Five surgeons from
across the country are discussing who are the best patients to perform
surgery.
The first surgeon,
an Irishman from New York, says, "I like to see accountants on my
operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is
numbered."
The second, an
Italian rom Chicago, responds. "Yeah, but you should try electricians!
Everything inside is color coded."
The third surgeon,
an Englishman from Dallas, says, "No, I really think librarians are the
best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order."
The fourth
surgeon, Mexican from Los Angeles chimes in: "You know, I like
construction workers ... those guys always understand when you have a
few parts left over."
But the fifth
surgeon, an Indian from Rose Bud Rez, shut them all up when he observed:
"You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no
guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the
ass are interchangeable. "
I don't think that anybody anywhere can talk about the
future of their people or of an organization without talking about
education. Whoever controls the education of our children controls our
future, the future of the Cherokee people and of the Cherokee Nation."
-Wilma P. Mankiller,
Cherokee
The world has changed in the
last 50 years. It will change even more in the next 50 years, and it
will change even faster. We must educate ourselves to ensure our future
generations will maintain the language and the culture of our people. We
need to be concerned about our land because when our land goes away, so
will our people. We need to be concerned about leadership, our families
and about alcoholism. We need to be concerned about what's going on
around the world. We can only do this by being educated. Then we can
control our future.

CHIA SEEDS: FUNNY NAME, SERIOUS NUTRITION
Superior to Flax Seed, Rich in Omega Acids
Chia seeds have a funny name, but there’s nothing
comical about the nutritional benefits of this tiny seed. Want to learn more
about chia seeds? Good Cause Wellness has just published a free 16-page report
on the benefits of chia seeds with dozens of recipes. It can be downloaded at
http://www.GoodCauseWellness.com
If you’re using flax seeds, consider switching to chia seeds for their superior
nutrition and ease of use. Chia seeds have the highest percent of combined Omega
3 and 6 fatty acids of any plant, including flax seeds. Plus, chia seeds offer
38% more fiber and 247% more calcium, with less calories and sodium than flax
seeds and no cholesterol. Chia seeds are easier to use and more versatile than
flax seeds. Because chia seeds have much higher antioxidant levels than flax
seeds, chia seeds don’t go rancid like flax.

Mexican Ghost
Story
This happened in a little town in New Mexico, and even though it sounds like an
Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's absolutely true:
This guy was on
the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark and stormy night. The night was
cold and wet and no cars went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a
few feet ahead of him.
Suddenly, he saw a car coming towards him and stopped. The guy, without thinking
about it, got in the car, closed the door, and only then realized that there was
nobody behind the wheel!
The car starts
going again, very slowly. The guy looks at the road and sees a curve coming his
way. Scared, he starts to pray and begs for his life. Just before the car hits
the curve, a hand appears through the driver's window and turns the wheel. The
guy, paralyzed in terror, watched how the hand appeared each time the car
approached a curve. Gathering his strength, he jumps out of the car and runs all
the way to the nearest town.
Wet and in shock,
he goes into a cantina, asks for two shots of tequila and starts telling
everybody about the horrible experience he just went through. A silence
enveloped everyone when they realized the guy was crying hysterically and wasn't
drunk.
About a half hour later, two other guys walk into the same cantina and one said
to the other,
"Mira, vato. That's the Pendejo that got in the car while we were
pushing it!"
Thomas Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, and Manifest
Destiny
By Robert J. Miller
Manifest
Destiny, as a term for westward expansion, was not used until the 1840s. Its
predecessor was the Doctrine of Discovery, a legal tradition by which Europeans
and Americans laid legal claim to the land of the indigenous people that they
"discovered."
Thus the competition among
the United States and European nations to establish claims of who got there
first became very important. In the United States, the British colonists who had
recently become Americans were competing with the English, French, and Spanish
for control of lands west of the Mississippi.
Who would be the
"discoverers" of the Indians and their lands, the United States or the European
countries? We know the answer, of course, but in this book, Miller for the first
time explains exactly how the United States achieved victory, not only on the
ground, but also in the developing legal thought of the day.The American effort began
with Thomas Jefferson's authorization of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, which set
out in 1803 to lay claim to the West. Lewis and Clark had several charges, among
them the discovery of a Northwest Passage--a land route across the continent--in
order to establish an American fur trade with China. In addition, the Corps of
Northwestern Discovery, as the expedition was called, cataloged new plant and
animal life, and performed detailed ethnographic research on the Indians they
encountered. This fascinating book lays out how that ethnographic research
became the legal basis for Indian removal practices implemented decades later,
explaining how the Doctrine of Discovery became part of American law, as it
still is today.
Miller analyzes the Doctrine of Discovery and
shows how Thomas Jefferson and the Lewis & Clark expedition used that
international legal doctrine to create Manifest Destiny – the idea that the
United States would sweep across the North American continent. This book grew
out of Miller’s three year involvement with the Lewis & Clark anniversary as the
representative of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe and an advisor to the National
Council of the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial.
This book delves
into recent discoveries of previously unrecorded Solstice, Equinox, and Cross
Quarter Markers both petroglyph and horizon markers in Southwest Utah.
Also included are the first ever general guideline for identifying Solstice and
Equinox markers.
How
often do you look at a calendar or in other ways confirm the
date?Well, the
Anasazi's preoccupation with the Sun should come as no
surprise! Celestial event recording stone & horizon markers,
including petroglyphs & pictographs, have been recognized
around the world for a long time. However, in 1977 when Anna Sofaer discovered an
Anasazi "sun dagger" solstice marker at Fajada Butte in
Chaco Canyon,
New Mexico,
interest in Native American Solstice markers in the
United States skyrocketed!
When I moved to
SW
Utah in 2001 I discovered an exciting Summer
Solstice Marker which involves 3 different shafts of light. This could be the most thrilling Solstice Marker yet
discovered in the
United States.
The Anasazi of SW Utah (known as
the Virgin River Anasazi, and more recently as Ancestral
Puebloans) have left an exciting trail of bread crumbs which
I have been following for the last 5 years.
This portion of my research
delves into my discoveries of previously unrecorded
Solstice, Equinox & Cross Quarter Markers both Petroglyph
Markers and Horizon Markers in
SW Utah.
Also included the first ever
general guideline for identifying Solstice & Equinox
Markers.

Hot Springs, NC / New York
State / National News: Celebrated Iroquois / Tuscarora author and elder Ted
Williams' long anticipated second book is now published by Syracuse
University Press. Williams' book, Big Medicine from Six Nations, recounts
his lifelong engagement with traditional wisdom, spiritual knowledge, and
his search for higher consciousness among the Six Nations of Iroquois.
Big Medicine from Six Nations is a series of reminiscences and essays by the
late Ted Williams on the themes of "medicine" and mysticism as it weaves
into daily life and especially his daily life growing up on the Tuscarora
Reservation. Williams intertwines the lore and lifeways of his Tuscarora
upbringing. He writes with an irreverence, irony and good humor that is
unmistakably his own. Colored by his wry wit, Big Medicine amply fulfills
the promise of its title. It offers a fascinating view of traditional and
non-traditional medicine, ceremony, vision quest, spirits and the sacred
teachings of the Great Law of the Great Peace.
Williams, who lived outside Hot Springs, NC, was also a celebrated Disc Golf
player and won the title of World Disc Golf Champion, Senior Division ("The
Legends") for the last five years of his life. He died in September 2005,
having just handed the last chapter of this book to his editor. His first
book, The Reservation (also published by Syracuse University Press), is a
modern classic of Iroquois literature. Debra Roberts, who lives in
Weaverville, NC, was a long time friend of Ted and his wife, Diana, and
spent over five years working with Ted, editing the book with him and later,
posthumously.
Here is what two other authors have to say about Big Medicine from Six
Nations:
"Big Medicine has a big heart. This book is a treasure trove of wisdom and
wit, a tribute to the living legacy of Native peoples. Mark Twain would be
envious of this book. Read it, savor it, your life will be enriched."
--Kenneth Cohen, author of Honoring the Medicine: The Essential Guide to
Native American Healing
"I've been waiting over twenty years for this book . The Reservation
(Williams' first book) is a touchstone of American Indian Literature. Big
Medicine from Six Nations is its companion piece . " (Eric Gansworth, author
of Breathing the Monster Alive.)
Big Medicine is available locally at Malaprops Bookstore (Asheville) and
also directly from Syracuse University Press (800) 365.8929. Royalties from
the book's sales benefit his widow, Diana Osborne Williams, and one of Ted
and Diana's grandchildren.

Company creates Web site to find
missing loved ones
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) A new Internet site seeks to reunite American Indians
with missing and unidentified loved ones.
Called "Missing from the
Circle," the site is offered as a public service by Lamar Associates, a
national firm that specializes in consulting for law enforcement and
security in Indian Country.
President Walter Lamar says the hope is that, through Missing from the
Circle, people will be able to complete their spiritual journey by
reconnecting families.
The site has information about the person and includes photos and
drawings of missing and unidentified people. There are some unidentified
post-mortem pictures, that the site warns are disturbing and should not
be viewed by children.
The repository is broken down with folders of juveniles and adult, males
and females who are missing or unidentified.
Prayer
and ceremony work. Creator heals and brings peace.

In Memory of Lance Selvidge -
Webster’s definition of a Martyr: 1: A person who voluntarily
suffers death as the penalty of witnessing to and refusing to renounce a belief.
2: A person who sacrifices something of great value, especially life itself for
the sake of principle. Lance, we are all better because you walked this
world, we will all become better because you look back with eyes from the angels
world. Thank You. The Selvidge Family. Little River Rock.

I
Tom
Smith (Georgia) my brother, and
brother-in-law went to be with Creator on May
1st. He is dancing with two legs, and singing.
He is now happy to be whole again. He fought a
hard battle, was a warrior! My dear
sister, Vicki, is doing ok, I spent a week with
her, and I am so grateful for all the prayers
for her and Tom. Tom had no life insurance, or
any monetary value. Vicki is having a hard time
financially. If there is anyone who would or
could help her, it would be such a blessing to
her.
Vicki's address is:
Vicki Smith, 905 Nashville Rd., Lakeland, FL.
33815 1-863-683-8707. Even just a
call with words of encouragement would bless
her. She took very good care of Tom, and was
there for him through it all. She has such a
caring spirit. Again, I want to thank you and
everyone involved in any prayer and ceremony for
her and Tom. My many blessings to you all!

for me as last time I lost teeth, I had a brain abcess. My

positive side, I usually end up needing blood transfusions
due to some serious life threatening illness at least every

A wonderful lady who has experience and good spirit has volunteered to be a
grant writer for Manataka. We still need at least one more.
MAIC has several worthwhile projects that are severely under-funded. Two
of the projects are of unique design and proven effectiveness. For the
past 10 years, all programs and services were self-funded by members and
supporters and we have not applied for financial assistance. The
worthiness of these programs requires more funds than can realistically be
provided by individual contributions. Experienced grant writers please
