Manataka
Tipis feature both the traditional Sioux style and the classic egg-shape characteristic of the Cheyenne style
to the rear, giving the floor its unique shape.
This results in giving the owner more usable floor space than most other
teepees.
Backed by our master craftsman's 3-year materials guarantee, and lifetime workmanship warranty. Includes complete instructions for set-up and care.
There is no comparison to our price, selection, craftsmanship and quality materials.
1. SELECT FROM 3 TYPES OF CANVAS TIPIS:
10 OZ.
Cotton Duck - Untreated
This lodge is the most popular type of tipi and inexpensive. It wears well
under the harshest conditions and looks great. Requires
self-treating. Not guaranteed against shrinkage. Great for powwows and
outings. This tipi is 100% cotton with 10
oz. of yarn per square yard. It will be white to off white containing particles
of cotton seeds and fairly coarse weave. Very authentic and close to the
material available in the 1800 period.
10 oz. SunForager - Treated
A 100% cotton army duck, with a very tight weave. Off white in color. Highly resistant to water, mildew, fungi and industrial pollution. This is a copyright treatment used for boat and snowmobile covers. Designed for year-round outdoor use. Actual weight of finished goods over 12 oz. per square yard. Recommended for all areas, especially east of the Mississippi, due to industrial wastes and high humidity. Resistant to sun, rot, mold and mildew.
10 oz. SunForager - Treated and Flame Retardant
The same as Sunforger with the additional treatment CPIA-84 flame retardant.
Meets California code (The best available) Actual weight of finished goods over
13 oz. per square yard. This material will self-extinguish when source of flame
is removed. Does not flash.
Sunforger and Sunforger Flame Retardant are stamped on the edge. This is your guarantee and proof for future reference, that you are receiving what you are paying for. In most cases this is only visible on the inside.
All of our materials treated or not are adversely affected by acid rain (hydrochloric acid) or other chemicals caused by industrial pollution. These will discolor the materials and cause possible water dripping. All of the treated materials are water resistant, not water proof. All of the above materials, treated or not will turn grey with use. This may appear in spots or solid tones of grey or sometimes colored. The materials we use are white to off white and are in accordance with national rendezvous rules.
The seams on all canvas teepees are triple sewn except at stress points such as the lift pole pocket and flaps where the seams receive a generous 4 to 5 rows of stitching adding to the strength and durability of the lodge.
