About the Author:
Daniel Seven Hawks
Hoffman was born on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South
Dakota and is of Oglala, Cherokee and Cree descent. He is a
Deputy Sheriff with a distinguished 35-year career in law
enforcement. For the past 20-years, Seven Hawks has regularly
presented programs on American Indian culture and history to school
and youth groups. For the past 10-years, he has been co-chair
of the Potawatomi Trail Powwow and an Elder in the Native American
Indian community. Seven Hawks is a respected member in
good standing with the Manataka American Indian
Council.
